Hello to whoever finds this blog post…
I grew up in a Caribbean home and, both of my parents are from Haiti. Most people from “the islands” don’t rely much on modern medicine for healing and my parents were no exception. They have never relied on modern medicine to help them through an illness (except emergencies of course). My mother cooked soups for us with lots of herbs and veggies to prevent us from catching anything during cold/flu season. Whenever we did end up catching one she make special herbal blends to heal us, my favorite being ginger tea.
Because I grew up in this environment I began to grow curious of herbs and decided I wanted to learn so much more about how they work, and how plants can heal us in many different ways.
So I signed up for an online class called “The Herbal Academy”
It has been just a week of studying/learning and I’ve learned so much.
After completing each course you earn a certificate that you can use when applying to jobs or seeking clients. The certificate can be used as a reference to let them know they can trust you because you actually studied in a course and is well-educated on the subject of herbs.
However, becoming a certified herbalist isn’t a thing in the USA, so you don’t need to go to school to become a professional herbalist but, it would look better on you if you did.
I just started the Introductory Herbal Course and I’m so glad I did. The course gives you wonderful tips, on how to make herbal infusions, how to buy and store herbs, how to create herbal teas and tinctures, how to make herbal infused oils and so much more.
If you want to become a professional herbalist I highly recommend signing up for a course at The Herbal Academy. They have all types of courses, packages, etc. Just find the right one for you.
If you do sign up let me know, I would love to meet a new classmate. 😉
